Might as well put my two cents worth in here on the external speaker
subject.
For years now I have been using the MFJ Clear Tone Speaker
Model MFJ-281. I have found this little speaker to be absolutely
amazing. For the price (10 dollars), you just can't go wrong. This
past year
I added the MFJ-616 Speech Intelligibility Enchancer unit to my
OMNI 6+ setup (I have some hearing deficiencies), with two of the
little speakers. The results are amazing and outstanding. Works great
with headphones too (which I use most of the time).
I'm not in any way associated with MFJ but just think the
speakers and the 616 unit haven't had much publicity. I'm
not saying this setup is superior to any other except in my
case I don't think it could be beat...for any price.
