The module swapping on a Scout is no problem at Field Day, as you likely
will start on one higher band, and after it folds for the evening, move
lower. You will only swap a few times in 24 hours, like twice or three
times. I take an ice box tray to hold only the bands that are active in
Field Day, and leave the WARC modules at home. The modules stand up, pc
plug down, and the band is easily seen on the edge. Use a foam insert if
the modules do not fill the length of the tray you have. Or use a cardboard
box. Have an instruction sheet for each and every rig,and demo the use and
swap of modules before FD. Show how to brace the thumb against the radio
case, and use the index finger to pull the lower end of the ejector lever to
avoid damage. And show how to seat the module and use thumb to press it in,
and make sure its level with the face of the radio before turning on the
radio. And emphasize turning off the radio to swap plug ins! Avoids hang
ups.
