HELLO MARK..YES, I've worked the globe with the Pegasus on psk....no problem
with ground loops, ete..matter of fact I consider the Pegasus a perfect psk
rig...went for the psk meter as a friend in TULSA uses one and told me it
was the cats meow....but it does not work with the Pegasus..George told me
via landline that not being able to disengage AGC was the cause....I do not
have any mic gain with the Pegasus..its set to zero...on the output config I
have all parameters muted with the exception of WAVE..which is set all the
ay up...control the tones with the volume slider provided by XP.....I've
operated with this setup for quite a few years now...with no problems to
speak of...my interface is a RASCAL...plugs into the accessory plug and has
never let me down...its the psk meter that is bucking heads with my AGC on
the rig...set it to right level and you can see the slider moving as the psk
meter tries to adjust to maximum setting..etc...I am sure the meter has a
place in psk work..its just a problem with a rig that does NOT allow
disengaging AGC....keep in touch..seems to me you are an expert on the
subject...GEORGE missed the boat on this one...he sent me a letter asking
what rigs I was using, etc..and said he had to look into this
situation...don't think there were any problems until I came along...thought
I had screwed up the kit..sent it back to him and he checked it out..said I
did a beautiful job of building the kit..I was hoping I screwed it up..but
