I'm not sure about the connector for the Herc, but I built my own cable to
interface my Omni VI, a homebrew remote tuning knob (couldn't find a used
301) and my PC.  It's not elegant but it was simple to build.  I took three
premade cables each with one appropriate end, cut the other ends off,
soldered the approriate wires together and added a couple of wire ties
around the three cable bundle for strain relief.  Using the pre-made cables
was easier than soldering onto the connectors. The DB25 (Omni VI) and DB9
(computer) cables are very easy to find.  I used a 5 pin round DIN for the
remote tuning knob. Those cables can be found as old PC style keyboard
extenders or as MIDI cables.
