I tend to leave the amp off during contests due to the neighbors.  I've
had no problems with the Alpha 99 on the QSK loop so far, but I haven't
had a lot of operating with it (work has been very time consuming this
year).  In one of the 48 hour contests I left the sweep on most of the
2nd day.  Had one point where the sweep froze.  It cleared when I did a
power cycle.  Frankly, I don't use the sweep much as it's not really a
tool I find very useful.  It's very possible I didn't hit the button
sequence needed to cause whatever problem you're seeing, but, as I noted,
I've not had a problem with it in a contest yet.
