The Omni 6+ is ok on SSB but keep in mind that it doesn't have a monitor, if that matters. Consider buying a new Jupiter. It's got better receive and transmit audio (for SSB), a monitor and is a lot of fun with N4PY software. The Omni 6+ excels as a cw rig. The narrow audio response of the Omni 6+ is a bonus for cw but is a bit tiring to some SSB operators.

Guys,
I am thinking of getting an Omni VI+. I do 90 % SSB, very little CW. Is this
a great SSB radio (I know folks love them for CW)?

I work a lot of DX, some DX contesting

Thanks,
Lee
