I'd like to speak up on this thread.  I bought a new Argonaut V a couple
of years ago.  After evaluating it for a month I decided that, even
though it was a very good transceiver, it was missing a couple of
features that to me were important.  It didn't have DSP noise reduction
or a notch filter.  I thought a top-end CW/SSB QRP rig that had DSP
software generated filters should also have those features like the
Pegasus and Jupiter have.  After speaking with the Ten-Tec sales and
engineering staff I was told that there was no plan to offer those
features because there was simply not enough buttons on the rig to
implement them without adding another layer of menus which they didn't
want to do.  I can understand that but felt that I would not be happy
with the rig long-term, so I elected to return the unit.  Instead of
asking for my money back, I applied those funds toward the purchase of a
demo Jupiter and have been very pleased with it.  

I don't feel that I would be blacklisted for my return if I chose to
purchase an Orion or Orion II simply because I was unhappy with the Argo
V.  Now, if I had returned it and then lambasted Ten-Tec on this
reflector and other venues, then I would not be surprised if that
happened and I would probably deserve it.  They are a very fair company
and make very good products but none of them are all things to all
people.  Neither are other manufacturers.  I believe they will make every
effort to make the customer happy, especially if you do receive a
defective unit.
