It seems that we are asking for a CPU that can do everything all of the time without delay. Fact is, won't happen. Something has to be 1st, something 2nd, something 3rd and etc in the instruction set. That's the way they work. Fast is one thing, without delay's is not possible without modification of the laws of physics.

Oh boy, CPU overload problems, I didn't want to hear that!

There may be timing/priority issues, but I find it hard to believe that the CPU is
overloaded.

Maybe we just need to add some ten-tec RF boards to a Cray XT3 to solve the problem. It could probably handle all the DSP stuff itself, as well as the control
functions and sweep.

The downside is the price, oh, and power and space :-)
