them and in so doing gutted the NR. Weren't they fixing issues with the AGC
and audio drop outs about that time?
As for the idea that it increased noise, yes it did, for about a second,
then the radio got very quiet almost as if it had been turned off. The
silence
was lovely and it took away a lot of the fatigue of listening to background
hiss.
