Wouldn't it be nice to have several stable software versions to choose from?
Fix the instability problems in ver 1.371 without changing the NR for
instance.
Just like one could choose to use Word or WordPerfect, one could choose a
software system optimized for SSB or CW. Now, that would be unbeatable.
To make that work, TT would have to decide to sell the code - you get one
license for each radio you buy and it "phones home" like XP to assure you don't
cheat. Then all the experts out there could modify to their heart's content
and post the results. You always have the option to go back to the default.
In the meantime, TT is selling the only box it all works in.
I'll bet it would quickly become the "cat's pajamas" and everyone would want
one.
