Another thumbs up for Force 12.  In head-to-head competition, their
antennas have always fared quite well.  Their little C3S (12ft boom,
26lbs) tribander sitting at 50ft has fared very well (top 10 several
times) in major DX contests here.  If you're looking to keep it
simple, this is a good way to go.

The Optibeams and SteppIR look very impressive as well.  And if you
don't mind the challenge of 3-D structures and a bit more involved
construction, quads have great potential and low noise levels.

The Bencher Skyhawk and Cushcraft X-7 will also deliver decent
performance.  But the Force12, Optibeam or SteppIR would be my first
choice.
