Using boards designed by CT1CMK, its no tougher stabilizing a 44.45 MHz
oscillator than stabilizing a 10 MHz with GPS. Takes different boards
slightly. I think they are available from a couple sources around the
world. Its something often done for 10 GHz transverters where 1 ppm
drift is way outside the receiver pass band. The technique is one of
drift control or frequency control, not phase lock so the basic phase
noise of the crystal oscillator isn't affected much. It does require
adding some varactor control to the oscillator to be controlled.
