The Palstar AT-1 Auto has some serious shortcomings. Like no antenna 
selection( on a $1500 box?) and extremely slow tuning. In fact they are 
dropping it and coming out with a replacement.
At least that is what a dealer has told me. I have the MFJ 998 and am 
completely surprised by how well it works and I have run the Legal Limit on 
AM through it into a Allpha Delta Shortened dipole on 3870 and  no smoke!! 
To look at it I would have never given it a snow balls chance, but I had it 
3 or 4 months now and so far so good.
