I've tested 2 Orion II ,the first one without ATU (which I sold it )and another
one
with ATU (which I have now) and both of them do the same thing.
It isn't pleasant and I think TEN TEC must fix it.

When I power my Orion I on or off, there is a fairly loud ‘pop’, which is
significantly louder on power-down. It happens with both the headphones and
the speaker, and the level is not affected by the AF gain setting.
I am the second owner and have only had the rig for a few months. I went
through the manual, then phoned TT service. While the tech exhibited the
same excellent level of courtesy and sincere caring I have come to expect,
this was the first time I came away from such a conversation without a
solution—although it was suggested that a faulty capacitor might be the
cause.
So, I would certainly appreciate any guidance you-all could give me.
