My Orion 565 has not been back to the factory since I purchased over two
years ago. It was in the last production run.

The only issue that I have had other than a few firmware bugs is an
intermittent trouble with the RIT/XIT encoder. Ten-Tec service took my
information and a when they had isolated the issue they provided
detailed instructions on how to repair the problem myself (they know I
am an EE with RF experience) or if I preferred invited me to send it to
them for repair. (Just checked now and its working nicely.... ).

I have had one or more Ten-Tec transceivers in my shack since 1970 and
never, as yet, had to send anything back for repair. Now that doesn't
mean I haven't had problems over all those years, but none I wasn't able
to fix myself due to excellent information and support from Ten-Tec.

Jerry, KG6TT
