Steve,
The version of the G5RV where I measure 3:1 SWR on 15, is the ZS6BKW 
dimensions, so it could vary from the 102 foot true G5RV.  Yes, that is 
low compared to some bands, but no problem to G5RV himself working 15 as 
per his 1984 article.
However, any version is going to be challenged if placed at low height 
as I had to do.

A good compromise dipole for many bands with a tuner is the all ladder 
line fed 88 foot dipole, as analyzed by L. B. Cebik, W4RNL (sk).  
(www.cebik.com)  It and its twice sized cousin have been good all around 
antennas but do require a tuner as a G5RV does for multiband work.
