Just to be accurate, here is some text extracted from the article Louis Varney wrote in his later years on his G5RV antenna: this is on the web if you search "G5RV Antenna Louis Varney". So, Louis did mention other bands than 20m later in this article, including 80, 40, 30, 20, 18, 21, 24, and 28 MHz. 20 was his primary design point, but he recognized it could be used on other bands.

THE G5RV ANTENNA, with its special feeder arrangement, is a multiband centre-fed antenna capable of very efficient operation on all hf bands from 3.5 to 28mhz, specifically designed with dimensions which allow it to be installed in gardens which accommodate a reasonably-straight run of about 102ft (31.1m) for the "flat-top"."
