RE: 3kHz RBW...
That is pretty freaking stupid.
Here is a dark little secret about spec an's - most of them have 3dB RBW
slopes - not 6dB. I doubt the ARRL spent the $$ for a Agilent PSA or Rhode &
Schwartz EMI receiver.
I would hope that they would use a spec an with a 6db slope RBW's.
Thank you Bill for the heads up! Last time I checked Sherwood's web site,
the TS590 and EAGLE were placing very high in the performance results.
Oh well - At least I was happy for a day! LOL!

And possibly the most misleading. ARRL changed their
methodology for measuring IMD around 2007 by using a 3 Hz BW spectrum
analyzer to separate IMD effects from phase noise effects. The human
ear has ~50 Hz bandwidth at best so their results are very
misleading and not comparable to earlier ones listed on the same
chart. If you want meaningful (i.e. what you will hear with your own
ears) results that are comparable over time stick to Sherwood's summary.
