Carl, there was already 2 kHz separation (7268 vs 7270).
One more kHz gives us 3 kHz separation.
Worst case, use the 1.8 kHz SSB filter...

I don't think 1 khz separation will work when SSB signals are 3 khz wide.
Now if one goes up 1.5 khz and the other down 1.5 khz , that will work.
