Barry you are correct. "I can work anything that I can hear" is a pretty
dumb statement.

REASON: If you don't hear the weak and rare ones due to a poor antenna, you
won't even attempt to work through the pile-up that is trying to reach him.

Speaking of RARE ones, CLIPPERTON "should" hit the air TODAY.
By tomorrow they should be in full swing.
Last contact (2 days ago while they were still on the boat), they were on
schedule.

I always questioned how meaningful a statement this was in regards to
antennas. How well an antenna functions is always reflected in how well
signals will be received and transmitted. A crappy antenna means you won't
hear much but you'll still be able to work what you hear (not much). A good
antenna means you'll hear plenty and be able work what you hear (plenty).
This all assumes you're running same power and have same receive noise level
as the guy you're listening to.
