Fellows,

Thanks for the replies. I was looking over the manual with this
radio, the replies here and some googling and noticed several things.
This Corsair II is the 561 model but I see there also was a model
560. Looking at the TenTec wiki I found these pages:

http://www.tentecwiki.org/doku.php?id=560

http://www.tentecwiki.org/doku.php?id=561

There is a whole lot more info listed on the 560 but mods are
mentioned on the 561. I didn't realize there were two different
Corsair II radios.

The manual for this one is the 561 and I notice in surprisingly tiny
handwriting a pencilled note with an asterisk on page 3-32 which I
really don't remember doing but I obviously did. The page is the
control board 80978 and the asterisk is next to Q15 and pencilled in
says "As per TenTec OK. Q15 is changed from 2N6514 to MJE 3440 to
permit 120V DC QSK switching". The info on this transistor is here:
http://datasheet.in/img/html-pdf.gif

Back in the day I would have had to have done this I was using a
Heathkit SB-220 with QSK that utilized Richard Measures QSK circuit
and I found that available on line:
http://www.somis.org/HSS-diagram.jpg I sold that amp in 1996 and the
Corsair II was mothballed while I lived in a basement apartment in
Chicago for many years. I do believe I used this Corsair II with a
Titan 425

Readings at the QSK out at key down I read 42.3 ohms and .014V no
reading when unkeyed.

Perhaps the info about the transistor will help answer if this
Corsair will work with the Alpha 77-D series amps. I'm reluctant to
just connect the QSK out to the amp to see what happens though I
can't envision any injury to either the amp or the Corsair.

Thanks,

Gary
KA1J
