Hmmm, well I don't know what bond paper is.  Perhaps what I call Emery
paper.
But it is very difficult to get anything down in there.

Picture this:  you have a 1/5" tube about an inch long, closed at one end.
Then you have a 1/16" pin running up the middle. It is very tight quarters
for doing anything.  

Actually my idea was to soak a toothpick in contact cleaner, then flatten it
just a little with a pair of pliers, then run the toothpick up and down the
center pin, and around the inside walls of the barrel.

Use a piece of scratchy bond paper... just tear a corner off your Will 
and use that...   ;-)

OK, he means you should use that type of heavy, course high fiber "bond" 
paper.   The good stuff has no acid in it.
