If it moves up scale off of 0 you have WATTS. If it moves further up scale
you have MORE WATTS. Then when the needle stops and just bends at the top
you have TOO MANY WATTS. I think that the way it works.

Golly, Jim, I was not calling you a cheerleader. The word "predilection"
only means "tendency to think favorably of something in particular" so it
seemed sorta misplaced to specify what is the best fit for your needs,
within your budget, when I was asking what might fit MY needs within MY
budget! ;-)
I was disappointed you would recommended such an expensive, lab grade
meter, and favor us with an explanation why the W2 meter would not be
suited to the task.
Oh well.. just to follow up, I find the W2 meter is proving an excellent
choice, and is plenty accurate for my needs. I like the handy SWR
alarm/amplifier cut off switch, which should prove an extra measure of
safety with my remote tuner at half the cost of the LP-100. I like having
the best gear, but I doubt if I need a lab grade instrument just to tell
me if the amp and tuner and all are doing OK.
Happy trails. Problem solved. I like my new meter which fits the bill
in my shack, and (almost) met budget.
