This is like saying that Greg LeMond won the Tour de France because he rode
on bikes made by Eddy Merckx. Eddy would like to advertize that as so, but
there are a lot of people riding Eddie's and none of them are even starting
the Tour let alone winning it. It would be very likely that LeMond would
not have won riding that Schwinn hanging in your garage, but it is also
likely true that his natural ability, training and experience was such that
he could have won riding any quality pro frame bike.

AFAIK, LeMond did not ride Merckx bikes. I only use that for the analogy,
so don't google it up and beat me up with the fact that LeMond rode Look
carbon fiber frames.
