With all this talk of "jump in noise", has anyone actually made an effort to
assure both radios are adjusted for equal sensitivity before comparing? I
recall my old Argonauts being very quiet but they weren't as sensitive as
later radios.
Most of us still turn down our RF gains when we encounter noise. I run mine
so that the noise is just barely audible.
Set both radios that way and then compare. _______________ ?
I loved my 56 Chevy and think it was one of the finest cars ever built.
But I have driven it for over 50 years now so perhaps it wasn't quite as
good as I remember it. ;-)
