It's important to understand that not all binaural implementations are
equal in effect.  They vary drastically. The binaural/spatial stereo effect
is very prominent in the direct conversion designs that route independent
I/Q streams through the headphones.  This is also true of some SDR software
(e.g. HDSDR) that specifically offer this.  I'm listening now to HDSDR
(connected to my Omni 6+ i.f. output) and it seems MUCH more
effective/prominent than what I remember the binaural effect to be on the
Orion and K3 I used to own.
