Yes, I am afraid I was one of those who was some what vocal about adding
160m and leaving out 12m. I am aware that TT received positive comments
about adding 160. One comment I had was that I could just see all those
SOTA guys climbing to the top of a mountain and putting up their 160
meter inverted V or vertical/end fed. Hehehe.
Still it was a good radio with a fabulous receiver. Would I buy another
with 12 meters? Yes, but an Omni and Rebel are higher on the list.

As I said, it might also be deemed a cost issue because they would have needed

that’s the story I got from John Henry.
I was one of the beta tester for that rig and that question came up right from the
start. Where were 60 and 12 meters. That’s what John Heny told the group of
beta testers.
If and when Mike gets the Argonaut VI back into production, from my point of view, I’d go
with 60 meters and forget 12….but that’s just me

Of course they could have found a larger box, which would have cost
more, so maybe that's the reason John said "cost".
According to Jack in a private conversation we had, in order to make
space for another band, he would have had to reduce the size of the
cores of the BPF inductors, which would slightly reduce their
performance, so he opted to leave 12m out. We never spoke about 60m.
According to Mike in a private telephone conversation with me, the new
Argo6's will have 12m. I don't think he commented on 60m. And he did
not say how they are doing it but if he says 12m is in, then I have no
reason to doubt him.
