Guys, fascinating thread about CC&R's but where the hell were you legal
pundits back in 1982 when I was being bullied about by the Lake of the Pines
CC&R Design Committee (near Sacramento, CA) over one stinking 2-mtr vertical
tacked to the roof????

I also got into trouble with the Design (re: Socialist) Committee about my
fence, about leaving my old truck parked in the driveway, about the color I
chose to paint the house.......I can not believe we Americans who are
supposedly rugged individuals would ever put up with this Socialist Crap,
especially the Conservative Right, but we do!!!?

Three-meter satelite dishs (remember those?) were dotted all over the
3700-home subdivision cuz they were approved by the "Committee" and those
that ran the Committee.

I did what I had to: Sell out and move to an unincorporated area of Placer
County where there's no stinkin' CC&R's!!

I''m no lawyer, but to me the bottom line, these rules are nothing more than
a civil contract between an organization and an individual so I don't really
think we want the FCC (re: Government) involved in civil disputes. In my
opinion, petitioning Congress to enact a law that will protect our rights is
the proper, if not very lengthy and difficult, way to go.....then defend our
rights with some protection.

Good luck to all, this CC&R crap is only going to get worse in this Country
if we don't stand up to it and fight for our rights!

And, oh yes, living in non-CC&R Country does come with some peril: The
neighbor next door a really nice fellow, but a slob and a car collector --
at last count he has 7 cars (and parts) parked wherever there's an open
spot, like the front yard!! But hey, no one has ever said squat (except my
wife, she hates them) about my antennas, towers.....etc.....

My 2-cents 73....../k6sdw
