Thanks for the info Jim. Yeah, I'm not questioning the reason for the brake
switch, I was just wondering why one couldn't automate the "coasting" delay
rather than relying on the operator to determine when rotational inertia has
settled down.

So where do I find out about the "circuits available to do this
automatically" and the "EZ rotor upgrade"? I looked at the Hy-Gain Web site
and all they have is new products.

Thanks and 73,

Well, they actually added the separate brake switch as an improvement. By
holding the brake switch down for a few seconds after releasing the CW or
CCW switch the system coasts to a stop instead of clunking to a stop with a
jerk that adds wear to the system, There are now circuits available to do
this automatically or one can add the EZ rotor upgrade and have a real fine,
computer controlled system.
