What should we conclude from these examples? I don't know of anyone who
has had a failure when the stuff was uncoiled. The failures I know of
happened when the stuff was in coiled form. Now if we want to get into
semantics, then lets say the stuff failed while in coil form and leave it at
that.
Sure it would be great to get a definitive answer to this but
realistically I don't see that happening. My hunch is that they don't see
this as a big enough problem and therefore, they are not going to put the
resources behind further analysis. But really, I think we're making this
more difficult than it has to be. We know:
1.) Some people store it in coiled form and have had no problems.
2.) Others have stored it in coiled form and returned later to find it
splintered to the point they could not use it.
3.) No one (to my knowledge) has had a failure when they unrolled it after
shipping.

So take your pick. Personally, I have no problem using Polyrod and will
continue to do so. If I had any doubts, then I would go with something else
regardless of the cost. The intent of my original post was to share the
experience of another person who encountered failure while the rod was in
coiled form. Do with the information as you wish. I'm going back to
pre-fitting sections of Rohn 45.
