I had a "Z" brace weld break on a Universal aluminum tower from an antenna
breaking and falling on it. I had it re-welded. It's difficult to spot the
difference between that and the original welds and it's held up fine for a
number of years. I used stainless steel bolts on it as the factory zinc
plated ones don't last very long.

On another topic, one Z-bar has become
separated from one leg, and another diagonal
piece has a clean break between the legs. Has
anyone had Aluminum joints re-welded and is
it possible to repair the diagonal?

P.S. It was very interesting to remove the bolts.
They were heavily rusted and most broke internally.
They had all rusted into a conical in shape inside the
tubing. Surely they weren't stainless, but should have been!
