At the request of someone who wanted to make a case about using that gunk I
recently dug out some old elements that had been assembled and in the air
for probably 15 years. He could not get a voltage drop across any element
joint he tried to measure. These were second hand antennas when I got them
and I did not use any goop on the joints, they worked fine for 15 years or
so and still had perfectly good joints.
