"Work the world with your Gotham vertical. Amazing performance. Radials
not required. V80 vertical $16.95. An appeal to intelligence. A product
consistently advertised in QST month after month, year after year, has
to be good."

The problem with the Gotham was its flakey advertising claims. If you
ran it without eadials, it and the feedline were pretty much a random
radiator, with random results. If you added a lot of radials (even
though advertising claims said you don't need them) it worked like any
other 23 ft bottom loaded vertical, which was not very good on the low
bands, and on the high bands a dipole was much better. If you are
planning to build something, I wouldn't recommend copying this, but it
is an interesting piece of folklore.
