Could you install a lightning rod which would extend above the top of
the antenna? As long as it is not resonant it should not interfere
with the operation of the antenna. 

On my tower, I have an eight foot ground rod mounted to the mast for
my yagi, with about six feet of it sticking up above everything else.
It has not been up long enough to say for sure if it does the job but
it looks pretty good to me.
