I have two I purchased at Lowe's. One is a simple, inexpensive one that I've
used on on to 1000#. The other is a compound with two pulleys and heavier
cable that I've used on loads up to a ton (IIRC it's rated for 2 tons) and
again IIRC it cost around $60. Both have worked well in their design range
over the last 8 years. I don't remember the brand names. The good one is up
on the tower and the other is in the shop so one of these days I'll get the
names.
