FYI,

I had one burn out and around one of the tubes it was very black and
slightly melted.  That was a concern as this was at our summer house and
this was a light we leave on all the time.  I am sure this was made in China
too.  

I have used many of these bulbs and have never noticed any rfi.

I have had just the opposite experience with modern CFLs. I bought a 
package of 3 GE 26W CFLs at Wal-Mart less than 2 months ago. About a 
week ago, one of them failed totally after blinking occasionally for 
several days. Made in China, of course.
