I am looking at the guy anchors for my Rohn 45 tower. The Rohn catlaog calls
out an AB2 hole which is a 6 foot long by 4 foot by 4 foot hole. The Rebar
cage is made up from 10 #6 rebar rods held together with 5 rods on the
lower lever and 5 on the higher level. These rods run the length of the
hole. The levels are 1 1/2 feet above each othert and held together by #3
stirrups. My question is how far should the rebar cage be kept away from the
edge of the hole. I believe that rebar too close to the edge of the concrete
block will corrode and crack the concrete. Is this true?

So if the hole is 6 feet long then should the #6 rebar be 5 foot 8 inches
long to allow 4 inches either side of the end of the hole.
