   Wedge brake rotators do make a sound when the brake is actuated. I 
had a house bracketed tower ONCE. I could hear all manner of vibrations 
from the antennas.

   Yaesu rotators use a worm gear and not a wedge brake. So they don't 
go thump in the night.
