Here in the Land of Mixed Units, our house is built in feet-and-inches 
on the ground floor, but from the staircase on up it's all metric. But 
that still doesn't beat my all-time favorite:

"Sorry, we don't stock 1-inch tubing any more. It's all millimetres now. 
Let's see... nearest I can do you is a 25.4."
