I ALWAYS cover Cushcraft's fiberglass insulators with black tape...it
helps it last longer!
Yes, BUT -- one of the things a manufacturer should be doing is using
materials suited to the task. Antennas are subject to UV, so all
elements of an antenna ought to be chosen to stand up to UV. That's part
of what we're paying for when we buy a commercial product.
