Could it be that Amphenol somewhere along the way changed the insulator
material from LCP to PTFE?

I'd think, rather, that there's some other inconsistency. They have
only one connector that's LCP, and they probably sell more of the
083-1SP than anything else - and lots of people have bought them and
claim it's PTFE..
