LCP is really a PIA to inject. PTFE is a lot easier to handle and I think
it's probably cheaper, plus you can grind up the scrap and reinject it
meaning you get nearly 100% use of the material - where with LCP the scrap
from the process is not recoverable.
PTFE is not a very high-temp material compared to LCP though so you need to
get on with that soldering quickly.

Where did you read that Amphenol used PTFE?
I have never heard of that.
BTW, PTFE is never clear, AFAIK.
In any event, PTFE is greatly inferior mechanically, and has no
electrical advantage at HF, or even UHF. It's high temperature rating
is also of no consequence for most ham applications. I don't know why
any knowledgeable person would even want it, except in some corner
case like a common mode choke made with PTFE coax.
