I can't speak for the frequency, but the back of the crimp connector is a sleeve that is a tight fit on foil, or against the dielectric rather than a soldered braid highly dependent on technique, so it's a constant size. The center pin doesn't depend on soldering technique either and its size isn't altered by exterior solder

Could it be that Amphenol somewhere along the way changed the insulator
material from  LCP to PTFE?

I'd think, rather, that there's some other inconsistency. They have only one connector that's LCP, and they probably sell more of the 083-1SP than anything else - and lots of people have bought them and claim it's PTFE..
