Subject: [TowerTalk] tower base rod weatherproofing
<I have some non-galvanized bolts/rods embedded into a concrete base for a
<short tower mounting plate.
<What would you recommend to coat them in to keep corrosion/rust demons away?
They are composed of hardened 5/8 x 18 threaded rods (non-galvanized) and
the bolts are used for adjusting the tower for plumb, so I'd like to
preserve the ability to adjust them at some point again. So something that
would leave the nuts still adjustable down the road is preferable, even if
has to be re-sealed/coated at that time its fine.
Suggestions?

## Why would you want to use non galvanized anchor rods in the 1st place?
You cant do anything about the portion embedded in the concrete..after the
fact.
The portion above the concrete..... you could use several coats of cold spray,
since
it drys very fast, like in 15 mins or less. The rustoleum brand, sold at home
depot
works superb..better than any of the other brands I have bought at the local
machine shops.
Then slobber it all with marine grade never seize....Loctite brand makes
the never seize..and also the marine grade never seize. You could also
probably coat
the entire top surface of the concrete with the correct product, to minimize
moisture
ingress into the top surface of concrete.
