Top loading a vertical with wire is a much better option than a loading coil, especially if the coil is used at the feedpoint, but it's not always feasible. The point was it's nice to have a premade loading coil source although I am wondering how much of an issue the nickel plating is. Then cancelled the inductive reactance with a series air variable in a weatherproof box at the base. 73, Steve N6SJ _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ TowerTalk mailing list TowerTalk@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/towertalk |
