[TRLog] Two radios and SSB

Well - it appears I was the only one really using the "fixed" up
software for the DVP in the SS. Here is what I found:

1. If I went through the Alt-D process and then called a station using
the SPACE BAR, and then needed to send my call again (with F1), the
program needs to abort the "dummy CQ" and then switch back to the
"active radio" and then send my call.

I have found that it takes a "long time" (i.e. 200 milliseconds) for
the DVP to stop a message in progress and I wasn't waiting for this
to happen before switching the relay. Therefore, I would get a brief
transmission on the active radio (just a quick blip) while the message
was being aborted, then a short pause, then my callsign would be sent.

This is now fixed, the program waits until the DVP message stops before
switching the relay (like it does in all of the other places in the
program) and it sounds clean.

That was the only bug that I found. The two radio mode seems to be
fully compatable with the DVP now, including the dualing CQs. After
using this in my first phone contest, I must say this appears to be
a powerful weapon for low power efforts in the SS, in addition to
the NAQP contests and possibly the sprints. Check out the latest
NCJ for an article by N6ZZ talking about two radios in the NAQP.

One of my best two radios stories from the SS:

I was calling CQ on 21447.0 and tuning the rest of 15 meters
with the second radio (separate mono banders). I found KI7Y
calling a guy who didn't come back to him. I hadn't worked
Jim yet (he is about 10 miles from me), so while the frequency
was quiet, I said "Jim - go up to 447 and call me". He was my
next QSO in the log.

My second best story was having K5TR call in while he was CQing
on 20 - just to say high. I was listening to N5KO on 20, so I
played N5KO giving his QSO # to George by putting my heil
microphone into my left earphone.

Finally, there was the time I had both radios on the same frequency
(I forget why) and was sending an exchange to someone and decided
to move one of the radios down the band.. So I grabbed the knob
and spun it... except it was the radio I was transmitting on!

Maybe I should have an option to have TR lock the frequency of the
radio I am transmitting on?
