Hi All. I've started down this road (my radios with dedicated transverter
connections don't put out out enough power from the transverter ports to run
the transverters I want to use, plus I have a radio I want to use as an IF
radio that doesn't have a transverter port.)

I've used coax plus a medium sized power attenuator to drive a transverter with
the IF radio at more or less full power. I'm reluctant to rely on the power
level control on the IF radio for this application and have been told by others
that the "spectral purity" of some radios may suffer if they are run at lower
than designed power levels.

Over the years I've picked up a number of coaxial relays (mostly used at swap
meets for less than $20.00 each) so switching the attenuation out during
receive isn't a major issue for me.

(Coaxial relays may be over kill for switching attenuators in and out at a 28
MHz IF frequency but I'd rather use what I have at this point. There are
articles on the web about using in expensive relays for RF switching.)

Good luck
