I am seeking help. Yesterday while checking the rigs before the NAQP RTTY
contest I noticed that CQ or Exchange sent messages were being truncated
before the complete message was sent. The point at which the message was
truncated was not consistent to a point where the transmitted signal being
send has no dittle to it. I am running SO2R and found this scenario the same
on both rigs.

Operating System is W98SE and current versions of WL and MMTTY. The
computer has been rock solid for years.
I have a Byterunner card installed in order to have more com ports
available. So....I decided to do SO1R and moved the Run radio ptt/fsk cable
(normally connected the Byterunner spider cable) over to Com 1 port of the
computer. Now the transmissions were not truncated.

I reseated the card, removed and reinstalled the card drivers and the
problem remains. I checked out how the rig is working on CW and everything
works. The messages are not cut short. (note the card has nothing to do with
CW operation)

I fear the card is bad. One thing I did notice in Device manager COM/LPT,
I used to see COMM 5,6,7 and 8.
Now I see Comms 4,5,6 and 7 after I reinstalled the drivers. So,
something has changed.

My last test will be to get the latest drivers and install them. I did
uninstall and reinstall MMTTY but nothing changed

Mike
