I do not know that WriteLog sends any data to SteppIR - in most cases
SteppIR is simply listening to data coming back to the logging software
from the rig. SteppIR's controls are designed to read the VFO A data
on the serial line and does not attempt to decode "split" status. The
issue is also complicated by rigs like the Icom that do not even report
the split status or "transmit" frequency other than when in transmit.

Some years back N8LP had a software solution that read the data and
provided direct SteppIR control. microHAM have some capabilities to
generate either direct SteppIR control or provide independent Icom
compatible data in microKEYER II (CAT/Sound card interface) and
Station Master (Band Decoder). However, both the software and hardware
approaches are add on solutions.

Is there some way to get WriteLog to use the split freq (VFO B) for
transmit when split is set? At present,
in contests on 40M, I have to set the SteppIR control to manual to
select the freq when in split and the xmit stn is received on VFO A. Tnx
