Yes, most likely relays causing loss of rx signal. Another quick test to confirm relay dirt/corrosion is to leave the amp in standby and put 100w through the amp, this usually temporarily burns a bet

Carl, I understand that the SWR as shown on the meter in the transceiver is high when the amplifier is operating, but the SWR on the line to the antenna is normal. Is that correct? The Henry Ultra am

Hello Victor I believe the adjustable coils are on the older Henry amps. No inductors like that on the 3K and 8K ultra two-piece amps Carl Get Outlook for iOS<https://aka.ms/o0ukef> _________________

The Henry Ultra amps have pi-network input circuits for each band. They have adjustable coils, L1-L6 on the schematic. If someone has misadjusted them, you can see high SWR. The 3K/8K Ultra does not

I don´t see any reason for damage to the output transistors. The typical input impedance of a 3CX3000A is around 50 ohms + a relatively small input capacitance. What Ultra is it? Henry build differen

Do not use the radios internal auto tuner. Use an external MANUAL tuner and tune it when running maximum power. If you try to use the internal auto tuner it will not tune properly as it tunes up at l

When doing this, unless this Tuner is placed between the T/R relay and the tube, it ends up being in the RF path on recv also. Isn't this going to make a bad load to the recvr of a good antenna? Joe

Power level should not affect the impedance of a load. If it does, then something is wrong. A part may be heating up and changing value, in which case the matching network should be fixed. You shoul
